Can I unlock the radio without code?
You can’t bypass the unlock code. It is an anti-theft strategy and you must enter the code to activate your stereo if you’re locked out.
How do I find the serial number?
Most car manufacturers have the radio serial number engraved in the rear label of the stereo units which you can see after removing the radio. However, you can also see the serial number on the screen by pressing the buttons 1 and 6 or 2 and 6 depending on the make and model of your vehicle.
Can I use my VIN instead of the serial number?
It depends. Often times, the serial number is the only way you’ll be able to generate the radio code for your car. However, some brands like Honda require the VIN number as well.
